Hi everyone! I just have a short post for you today as I’m a little busy with uni work at the moment – one French essay on WW2 due tomorrow = nightmare. Anyway, I thought I’d share with you the products which I love to use for creating my best super-defined contoured look which I hope even Kimmy K would be proud of. I plan to do a full post on how I actually accomplish this at some point in the future when I have more time, but this is just a sneak peak.
While contouring is always going to be a bit of a faff, you know I’m a no-fuss, no-frills kind of girl, so all these products are really easy to use and will make you stand out, without looking OTT.
Let’s get started! After applying a good primer and foundation to create a flawless-finish base, I begin the contouring process by reaching for my Clinique Airbrush Concealer in Neutral Fair. This is perfect for bringing lightness to the centre of your face, without giving you an unnatural shine like some highlighters do. I apply it underneath my eyes to conceal dark circles, down the centre of my nose, in the centre of my forehead, on my chin and above my brows. If I’m going all out I’ll also bring it from the outer corner of my eye to the edge of my nose (at the bottom).
Next, I love using my Daniel Sandler Watercolour Crème Bronzer in Riviera to create the shadows and also warm my face up a little. The creamy formula is easier to work with than a powder and it gives a lovely warm brown, without a trace of orange. I use my finger to apply it underneath my cheekbones, at the top of my forehead, down the edges of my nose and along my jaw line.
To blend everything in, I use my trusty Real Techniques Contouring Brush. You really can’t go wrong with Real Techniques can you? This soft, slightly pointed brush is perfect for blending everything out till it all looks natural. I then like to use the Real Techniques Setting Brush to dust a little MAC Mineralize Natural Skinfinish in Light over the lighter areas. This just keeps everything in place.
Finally, to complete the contouring process, I like to add a little bit of highlighter to my cheekbones, underneath my brows, the inner corners of my eyes and my cupid’s bow. For this I adore the YSL Touche Eclat which gives just the right amount of shimmer. This will give you that fresh glow and make everything look a little bit more beautiful.
So that’s it folks! All I need now is a light dusting of setting powder to keep everything in place and a brush of blush over the apples of my cheeks and I’m good to go. What do you think of my choices? Do you like to contour and what products do you use?
