A few weeks ago, I was very upset to find that I had managed to lose my favourite Clinique Airbrush Concealer to a girls’ night out. Somewhere among the cocktails, overly vigorous dancing, and of course the mandatory stop for a Big Mac on the way home, it must have fallen out of my little clutch bag. As any makeup lover will know, nothing is more annoying than losing one of your favourite products, especially when it was still half full and costs quite a lot to replace!
I decided though, that this was the perfect opportunity to try out a new concealer, and I immediately knew which one it would be! After seeing the amazing beauty blogger Lily Pebbles bang on about the new Urban Decay Concealer, saying it was an even better version of the famous NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer, I took myself off to the makeup counters.
So the question is, does it live up to the hype?
I don’t want to waffle on for too long so let’s break it down into categories!
Packaging: One of the reasons I fell in love with this concealer, is the awesome packaging. It’s a nice sized bottle with plenty of product, and it has that good quality feel to it. What really makes it stand out though is the applicator. The only way I can describe it is it’s quite long and bendy (get your minds out of the gutter girls!) and this makes it really easy to apply. It picks up a lot of product and is perfect for applying under eyes, on blemishes or for highlighting.
Formula: Apparently this formula is very similar to the NARS concealer; I’ve never tried it so I can’t tell you if that’s true. What I do know though is it’s really light, creamy and doesn’t get all cakey in the creases. It’s heavy enough to cover blemishes but still feels light enough to use as an under-eye highlighter. *Win!*
Shades: I use the lightest shade of Fair Neutral which I’m very happy with. There are eight shades in total so lots of choice!
Effect: I loooove the effect this has. The light-reflecting quality really helps to brighten up any dark circles and give face a bit of luminosity.
Let’s show you some pics!
I like to apply my concealer under my eyes to cover dark circles, around the edge of my nose and on my chin to conceal some redness, and down my nose, in the centre of my forehead and above my brows to highlight. I really think the concealer helps to just make everything look a little brighter.
And here’s a pic after I’d finished off my makeup with a bit of bronzer, powder, eye shadow and mascara.
Overall, I think this concealer is definitely worth the hype! Creamy, light and brightening, it does everything I could ask!
What do you guys think? Have you tried this Urban Decay Concealer? And what is your favourite concealer right now?
