4 Products I’ve Hit Pan On

I always have such mixed emotions when I’ve hit pan on a beauty product…On the one hand, there’s a sense of satisfaction for actually finishing something! I’m such a makeup magpie and am always buying new things before I get the chance to finish my old ones, so when I actually do I like to give myself a little pat on the back for getting my money’s worth. On the other hand, there’s that overriding feeling of “dammit I’m almost out!”. Cue the following argument in my head…”Shall I repurchase or should I try something new?But what if it’s not as good?Plus I have no money..” Decisions decisions!

But, as usual, the makeup monster within me wins and I always end up coming home from Boots with a whole bag of new beauty products, thinking “How did this happen?” I thought I’d share with you 4 products which I’ve recently hit pan on. Of course, I’ve still got a bit of use left out of them but I like to start considering what I’m going to buy next! I thought you guys could help me decide whether to repurchase or rethink??

Here we go…

4 Products I've Hit Pan On

1. Benefit Hoola Bronzer: There are two bronzers in here and they’re both two of my absolute favourites. This one by Benefit is apparently the best-selling bronzer in the uk and I can completely see why. It’s a really lovely warm brown shade, not too orange, and is perfect for both contouring or just giving face a nice boost of colour. I’m also a big fan of the little brush which comes with it! The only downsides to this product for me are the price and the packaging. Considering it retails at £23.50, the cardboard box and purple colour look a little bit cheap…Sorry Benefit!

I’ve heard good things about the Soap & Glory Solar Powder and the Bourjois Delice de Poudre for drugstore alternatives. Or maybe I should just go all out and get the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow or the Guerlain Terracotta? What do you guys think?

2. Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Bronzer in Riviera: I’ve done a full review on this here if you’d like to read more, but what I will say is that this was such a good discovery. I love the fact that it’s a cream-based bronzer which makes contouring look really natural. If I want a more subtle, sun-kissed look, I’ll reach for this instead of my Hoola Bronzer. If I want an all-out contoured look, I use this under my powder and then finish up my makeup with a bit of Hoola for extra warmth.

The only issue with this? It’s quite small considering the price of £15.50. I’ve used this up pretty quickly, so I’m not sure if it’s worth splashing out on again… Repurchase or rethink? Does anyone know of any good cream bronzers on the market right now?

3. NARS Albatross Highlighting Blush: I have had this for soooo long. I think I bought it 2 years ago so I’m impressed with its longevity. While I really love the golden glow that this gives to my cheekbones, I think I’ve already decided I’m going to try something new as I’ve had my eye on two highlighters for a while. I’m torn between The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer and the MAC Lightcapade. Have you tried either of these and what did you think?

4. Stila In the Light Eyeshadow Palette: Ok, so I’ve only actually hit pan on two of the shades in this palette; Bubbly, which is a gorgeous champagne colour perfect for a golden goddess look, and Kitten, a really pretty peachy silver tone, perfect for dotting into the inner corners of eyes. This whole palette is so stunning and I cannot recommend it enough! I’m surprised I haven’t hit pan on all the colours to be honest as I use it all the time!  On the other hand, I have been itching to buy myself a new eyeshadow palette, there are just so many pretty ones out there right now! I’m thinking one of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes? Which would you recommend?

I would love to hear any opinions or recommendations from any readers! What do you think of these products? Should I repurchase or rethink? And if any of you have opinions on any of the products I’m considering, please let me know!

Thanks for reading!

  1. You’re the only one I know that actually uses the benefit hoola brush it comes with! I really like NYC Sunny and Jouer in Suntan for bronzers. I can’t believe you finished up a whole highlighter! Impressed! Stila kitten is a staple in my collection. It’s one of the best shadows for highlighting out there. So pretty! Hitting pan makes me go through similar emotions. Lol

    1. Oh really I’m surprised by that! I find it fits perfectly under my cheekbone for contouring and it’s a really handy size 🙂 I agree I think kitten is definitely one I will have to repurchase it’s so gorgeous! Thanks for reading xxx

  2. I have yet to pan on anything but its probably going to be the Hoola bronzer. Its my holy grail! But I agree with you, the packaging is sort of cheap looking. but you can’t judge a product by its packaging 🙂 great post! I have not tried any of Stila’s products yet. I just think that I have too much to work through right now. Tomorrow I’m going to post a blog about my makeup collection. So excited! 😀

    1. I think lots of people love the hoola bronzer! It’s such a classic. I agree about packaging, the only problem with the box is sometime it’s a bit difficult to get into! Especially when I’m using a bigger brush. I really recommend stila eyeshadows they’re so lovely and pigmented. I’ll keep a lookout for your post tomorrow 🙂 xx

      1. yeah I closed it once after I first bought it and it slipped and went inside and put a gash in it. ;( but that’s okay. I’m excited about blogging on my makeup collection! I haven’t pulled all of it out in a while. 😀

  3. I really like the idea behind this post! I find it so satisfying to completely finish a beauty product off and hitting pan is like half the battle. I really like your blog! xxx

  4. I rarely hit pan because I am always buying new stuff too lol. Benefit Hoola Bronzer is my favorite Bronzer right now. Though in my Naked 2 Basics palette I have hit pain on the shade Skimp and it didn’t take very long, though all of the other shades are intact lol. Great post! 🙂 xo
