Summer is officially here! It’s time to put away the nudes and boring reds, and start getting funky with the old nails. This is the season when everyone, no matter what age you are, can pull off a bright orange or green. In fact, I’d judge you if you weren’t… Just kidding. But seriously, we only have a few months of summer (or a few weeks in England’s case), so let’s make the most of it! I’ve rounded up my top 5 choices for nail colours this season, and guess what?… There’s not a nude in sight.
From Left to Right:
Estee Lauder Pure Color in Absinthe (£14.50): This green is quite out there but I love wearing it when I’m feeling a little daring. The whole Estee Lauder range in general is so pretty so I definitely recommend checking it out. The olive green of this shade will look gorgeous against dark skin.
ORLY Lacquer Vernis Esmalte in Passion Fruit (£10.50): I love a hot pink nail polish for summer. It’s especially nice on toes poking through peep-toe sandals.
Topshop Nail Polish in Awol (£5): This bright blue is the perfect contrast to a crisp white shirt or summer dress. It actually looks surprisingly sophisticated!
Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine in White Hot Love (£2.99): White nails seem to be THE trend this season. Fresh, pretty and a bit different, it really does epitomise spring/summer. This Rimmel shade is super cheap and after two coats, gives a lovely opaque effect.
Maybelline Color Show in Orange Attack (£2.99): The polishes from this Maybelline range aren’t the most long-lasting in the world. I do find they start to chip quite quickly. However, at £3, they really are a bargain and have such a wide range of colours. I particularly love this orangey red shade, which looks so fab with a tan.
What do you guys think of my choices? And what are your favourite nail polish shades this summer?
