We’ve all had one of those weeks where, when it comes to the end, you feel like you’ve run a marathon. Whether it’s stress from work or school, lack of sleep, or maybe just a really rubbish few days, there’s nothing better than a proper pamper sesh to make you feel rejuvenated. I usually like to take an hour on a Sunday evening to relax and beautify myself. It really sets me up for the week ahead and I go to bed feeling fresh and relaxed!
So let me take you through my perfect night in…
When I have time I like to give my hair some extra TLC with a good quality hair mask. My mum and I swear by the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. Yes, it’s a little on the expensive side, but the results are fabulous. This is especially great if your hair is on the limp, breakable side. Overtime, this will help to thicken and strengthen it, while giving you some extra volume. Apply it to wet hair before shampooing and conditioning and leave on for 20-45 minutes.
Interesting fact: Philip Kingsley supposedly created this Elasticizer for Audrey Hepburn. Well, if it’s good enough for Audrey…
After washing my face with a cleanser, I like to do my weekly exfoliation. I try to keep this down to a minimum as I don’t want to dry out or irritate my skin! This Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Bubble Peeling from The Silk Rose is the perfect balance.
It’s a creamy serum which transforms into a foam when smoothed over skin. This really leaves my skin feeling gorgeous. All the dirt and dead cells are gently sloughed away leaving a flawlessly soft complexion.
What would a pamper sesh be without a face mask? Sometimes after a stressful week, my skin looks very dull and lifeless. No fun at all! A nourishing firming mask helps to plump everything up and leave it looking full and hydrated. This LJH Vital Firming Hydrogel Mask is really amazing and definitely one of my favourites.
Leave it on for 15 mins, tap off the excess serum. and enjoy.
After a face mask, it’s time to lock in all that goodness with a moisturising serum and for that, I bring out my LJH Vita Propolis Ampoule. This little bottle of goodness is like liquid gold for skin…
It’s really light and not at all sticky. I apply a couple of drops with my fingers and watch as it magically sinks in to my complexion. Even though this contains hydrating ingredients, oily skinned ladies have no need to fear as it’s suitable for all skin types.
The final step to my little pamper night in is to moisturise of course! And for that I like to use this LJH Probiotics Sleeping Cream.
So what is a sleeping cream you may ask? It’s a 2-in-1 mask and face cream which slowly hydrates your skin overnight. Now let me tell you, this stuff is a dream. It’s got a gel-like consistency so it’s really light and not at all pore-clogging. I wake up and my skin feels soft but not at all oily!
To round off the pamper night in, I always have a good book to hand (at the moment, I’m reading Eat Nourish Glow by Amelia Freer) and I’ll often give myself a little manicure. Then it’s time to curl up into bed, set the alarm, and fall asleep! Now I’ve just got to get through the next week… 😦
