Stripes in Sicily

Has anyone else noticed the drop in temperature recently?

I’ve had to bring out the extra blanket for my bed, invested in a new winter coat (this French Connection one to be exact), and the windows now stay firmly closed while I sleep. Yep, summer is officially over.

Although I actually secretly love the colder seasons – I’m a fan of the layered look – when I do start to get a little bit sad about the missing sunshine, I like to look back over my old photos. These ones from Sicily, ourΒ last stop on ourΒ Italian adventure, always seem to bring a smile to my face.

Frolicking along a beautiful sandy beach, the waves lapping at your feet, as the sun slowly starts to go down, was a fantastic way to end such an unforgettable holiday.

A vibrant, full skirt is ideal for taking from day to night while you’re on holiday, and I love the colours of this Boden Florence Skirt. Play it down and make it more fun and casual with a t-shirt, but add some elegant sandals and a nice clutch bag for some evening glamour.

Sadly, I feel like I might have to wait to wear this skirt till next summer.

I’m already thinking about my next travel destination… Anyone got any suggestions?

In case you were wondering, this lovely little beach town is called Giardini-Naxos, and it lies on the Southern coast of Sicily. It’s a really nice area for families or those looking for a great beach, restaurants, a few bars, and somewhere not too pricey! Mount Etna isn’t too far away either if you fancy a day trip.

Oh, and one more thing I miss about Italy…

The coffee.

At least with it being winter, my favourite Pumpkin Spiced Latte is back on the menu in Starbucks!

Swings and roundabouts I guess…

Hope you guys enjoyed this fairly brief post! I don’t really know what category it falls under… Travel? Fashion? Who knows… Let me know what you think of the outfit and I’d love to hear what your favourite items of clothing are for holidays. And are you a winter or summer kind of person? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I woke up this morning and there was mist outside my window, and it finally hit me that summer is officially over! I love your outfit pictures, they are so lovely – you can never go wrong with a stripy top! I also had an Italian summer and still have a big addicted to espressos! xx
