The Christmas Gift Guide

So it’s been a while since I last posted…sorry about that! Typically, just as I was already struggling to keep up with blogging over the last couple of weeks (work has been pretty crazy), my laptop decided to die on me! Yep, even the happy Christmas spirit can’t keep the blue screen of death at bay…

This post was intended to go up last weekend, but due to all these things I just haven’t had time. I’m aware most of you will probably have finished your Christmas shopping by now, but there may be a few of you disorganised beans out there who’ve left it last minute *guilty*. I’m focusing on gifts for women, so if you have a mum/sister/aunt/friend who you’re struggling to buy for, read on for a few of my top ideas…

Under £10: If you’re a little short of cash or maybe just want a nice stocking filler or Secret Santa gift, there’s actually lots of great stuff out there for under a tenner. One of my favourites this year is the Limited Edition Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser in the scent “Sweet Orange and Mint“. It comes in a lovely festive bottle and smells delicious. It’s also the perfect size for travelling. At only £9.75, I really recommend this for anyone who loves a bit of luxury skincare. If you’re after something non-related, and for someone who enjoys cooking or a healthy lifestyle, I’ve previously raved about Madeleine Shaw’s book, Get the Glow (review). This is one of those “clean-eating cookbooks” which doesn’t make you want to kill yourself… The recipes are all genuinely do-able (none of these strange, ridiculously expensive ingredients you’ve never heard of) and they taste amazing! It’s officially priced at £20, but as it’s been out a while now, I’ve spotted it in many shops for half price.

Under £25: There are so many great Christmas gift sets out at the moment, it was hard to pick one to recommend. I think, for me, I’ve fallen in love a little bit with the Essie All I Want for Christmas Gift Box. Who doesn’t love an Essie Polish hey? The shades this year are all gorgeous greys, reds and plums, perfect for this time of year; plus it has one of my current faves “Cocktail Bling“. If your gift-receiver is more of a lipstick lover, there’s no doubt they will love a Charlotte Tilbury creation… My favourite? Matte Revolution Bond Girl (review); a warm, browny shade perfect for day or night. Finally, for someone who deserves a bit of R&R, treat them to a jar of this SABON Jasmine Sorbet Body Gel (review). This brand knows how to do luxury skincare.

Under £40: Going all out this year? There’s a few things which I think any girl or woman will love to receive. I hate to go back to the old Charlotte Tilbury story (do I ever not mention this brand?) but I just think the idea of their Mini Lipstick Charms set is completely adorable! You get 3 petite versions of her Ms. Tilbury’s personal favourite shades; Penelope Pink, So Marilyn, and Bitch Perfect (one of my faves; here’s my review). I wouldn’t mind this myself if any of my friends are reading this… Anyone?? Aside from that, my mum always loves a bottle of her favourite perfumed body lotion (Coco Mademoiselle). This is a nice alternative to perfume which can sometimes be double the price of the lotion version…. My final recommendation is an oldie but a goodie. My boss gave me a Jo Malone Home Candle this year *eeek!* and you just can’t go wrong with it in my view. They’re the most gorgeous scented candles out there in my view, and totally worth the tidy price. My current favourite scents are the Lime Basil and Mandarin, and the Orange Blossom.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Christmas Gift Guide! Sorry if it’s a little rushed, I’ll hopefully have my laptop up and running soon and I only have 2 days left of work (YES!), so I’ll definitely be posting more regularly over the next few weeks 🙂
