I’m sure I’m not the only one out there who was feeling less than funky fresh yesterday… In fact, I was feeling pretty bloomin’ terrible. All I wanted was to curl up in bed in my fluffy dressing gown with a pint of water and a Friends box-set. Unfortunately though, I’d already committed to going to the Races with a few friends, so I had to man up, get up, and make myself look vaguely presentable.
I’m sure we’ve all experienced an occasion like this when you feel like rubbish, but know you need to be somewhere. I’ve put together my 5 go-to beauty products for ensuring I at least look a little better than I feel!
Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser – When I wake up with a sore head, I always find the best remedy is to force myself to get out of bed and jump in that shower. A blast of hot water can really do wonders to brush the cobwebs away. I like to use this refreshing scrub to wake up my skin and give it a really good clean. The orangey-citrus scent smells delicious and an exfoliation helps to rejuvinate skin by scrubbing away dead skin cells.
Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop – This is a serum made up of predominantly Vitamin C which is fabulous for giving you a glowing complexion. I always save this for when my skin is looking particularly dull and grey!
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance – When I’ve had a late night, the next day I usually avoid wearing makeup completely to let my skin breathe. Though if I’m doing something which requires me to look vaguely human, I’ll reach for bases which give a dewy, glowing finish. This Laura Mercier Foundation Primer is great for wearing by itself or underneath makeup to even out redness and make you look healthier,
MAC Prep and Prime Highlighter in Light Boost – This yellow-toned concealer/highlighter hybrid is amazing for disguising those pesky under-eye circles. Shadows be gone!
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square – If you’re looking tired and drained, an orange-toned red lipstick is just what you need. It makes teeth appear whiter, eyes brighter, and it lifts the face to make it seem more awake. These NARS Velvet Matte Pencils are such an amazing creamy formula, and this is my favourite shade. What are your ‘morning-after’ beauty essentials? Do you have any tips for when you’re feeling under the weather?
The Christmas period has thrown my blogging timetable a bit but I’ll be back to blogging Wednesdays and Sundays from now on 🙂
