2015 Beauty Favourites

Ooh it’s been a good year for beauty hasn’t it? It was just over a year ago that I decided to start this blog (it’s gone by in a flash!) and since then, I really think my love of beauty has grown ten fold. Didn’t think that was possible… I’ve discovered loads of amazing products this year which are now firm favourites in my collection. This post would go on forever if I tried to name all of them, so I’ve forced myself to pick my top 8 favourites from the past year. Read on and find out what they were!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel: I discovered this moisturiser pretty early on in 2015 and I’ve been extremely loyal to ever since (I don’t think I’ve used anything else!) As my skin falls on the oilier side of the spectrum, this gel-like formula is perfect for giving me hydration, without clogging my pores. It’s expensive… but the bottle will last ages!

LJH Cosmetics Vita Propolis Ampoule Serum: This is a fairly new discovery, but I’ve seen what a difference it’s made to my skin in the last 2 months. This serum is like a dream. Just trust me when I say this is like liquid gold for skin…Pick up a bottle, you won’t regret it!

Diorskin Nude BB Cream: This was the year I discovered the beauty of a BB Cream… Lighter than a foundation, heavier than a tinted moisturiser, it’s perfect for those ‘in-between’ days. My absolute favourite has to be this one by Dior. It just gives you the most beautiful natural glow and it feels so incredibly light and creamy.

Urban Decay Naked Concealer: I’ve already decided to repurchase this asap this year. The formula is lovely and creamy, making it great to use as a highlighter or under-eye concealer, but still gives enough coverage to conceal any blemishes.

Clarins Aquatic Treasures Bronzer: The most gorgeous makeup product I think I’ve ever seen! I still love the dreamy Aztec pattern and compact, and the peachy shade is just so flattering. This is more of a summer shade, so I can’t wait to start cracking it out again when spring comes around.

Essie Nail Polish: Can you believe I only tried my first Essie polish a few months ago? Well they really are worth the hype. They last well, don’t chip, come in many beautiful colours, and are very reasonably priced. Check out my 3 Autumn Faves.

MAC Mehr: This plummy, nude tone has become my go-to shade this season. It’s like no other colour I own, and I always get compliments when I wear it.

Charlotte Tilbury (EVERYTHING): If I could choose one standout brand for me this year, it would have to be Charlotte Tilbury. So far, I’ve tried the Dolce Vita Luxury Eyeshadow Quad (the most gorgeous, buttery, warm shades), the Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette (the perfect natural contour), and 2 of the lipsticks (Bond Girl and Bitch Perfect). Every single one has been amazing! Plus, I just can’t get enough of the rose gold packaging… If anyone has any recommendations on what to try next, let me know!

Thank you so much to everyone who’s read my blog in 2015. I appreciate so much anyone who’s taken the time to read, like, comment or follow. You’re all amazing and I hope you have a fab 2016!!

Thanks for reading,

  1. Love Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks! I can’t believe how amazing they are – the texture is sublime! I’m desperate to try more CT stuff, but the January budget is not allowing 🙂

Love Mehr too (once I finally got my hands on it after it was sold out everywhere I went!)

    1. I agree the formula is amazing. I love how the matte ones don’t feel drying at all! I really want to try the foundation next but like you my budget won’t really allow it right now 😦
Thanks so much for reading xxx

  2. Fab list Jo! Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who hadn’t tried Essie until a few months ago *awkwardly raises hand*. I need to re-swatch MAC Mehr when I’m next at a MAC counter, all this talk and hype about it makes me want it haha 😛
