One of the brands I’ve never been able to get my hands on is the extremely popular Laura Mercier. I know she’s seriously famous for her makeup artist abilities (she made tightlining eyeliner a thing) and lots of her products are constantly raved about on the blog, in particular the tinted moisturisers and concealers. The main product I’ve always wanted to try though was a primer. There’s quite a few in the range, from Oil-free or Hydrating to the classic original, but after some research, I plumped for Radiance… Because who doesn’t want to be radiant right?
What I especially love about this primer is the light creamy formula. Unlike my most recently used-up primer purchase, the Benefit POREfessional (review) which I found to have quite an unpleasant greasy tacky texture, this feels really weightless on my skin. You only need a small blob and I like to just smooth it out across my face, making sure not to rub it in too hard. It’s then best to leave it for a couple of minutes before applying foundation – or just rock it by itself if that’s your thing!
This definitely does provide a nice natural sheen to my face – don’t worry not in a sweaty kind of way, in a radiant kind of way. It gives a subtle glow from within and it’s nice for evening out redness. I also have combination skin and don’t find this has made my oilier areas any more oily if that makes sense! I do think it increases the longevity of my makeup, but probably not as much as the Benefit version… Overall though, I think this is a winner! Now what Laura Mercier product shall I try next…
Have you tried any of the Laura Mercier Foundation Primers? What did you think? And do you have any other recommendations for a great primer?
I’ll be back on Monday with a new post!
