A Mini Drugstore Haul

A Mini Drugstore Haul

For a long time I was a firm believer that you needed to splash the cash to get your hands on good quality makeup. Yes, I put my hands up, I was a bit of a beauty snob. Sue me! But in the last year or so, I’ve really found myself gravitating to some of the cheaper products, the likes of which can be found in the aisles of Boots and Superdrug. Brands like L’Oreal, Rimmel and Revlon have really upped their game and proven you don’t necessarily need to spend a fortune for great quality.

This week, I went on a cheeky post-work trip to the shopping centre, so let me share with you the bits and pieces that made it into my basket.

ZoellaΒ Eyes Beauty Bag – I was in desperate need of a new makeup bag for weekends away (mine has become very grubby and bedraggled). I love this cute spotty bag from Zoella Beauty, and it’s the perfect size for a few nights away. The material is fab as you can easily wipe away any dirt or marks, and it fits a surprising amount of stuff in there without taking up too much room in my handbag.

Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser Eye Concealer – I’ve just run out of my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer so thought I’d try a different variation and formula. So far, I’m really liking it! It’s more of a highlighting under-eye concealer and doesn’t provide a lot of coverage, meaning it isn’t great for concealing blemishes, but for brightening dark circles it’s brill!

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter – I don’t know if this technically counts as “drugstore” as it’s a little more expensive than everything else in this haul, but I did buy it from Superdrug and it’s cheaper than most high-end brands like MAC or Dior. I’ve only tried it once but from that one occasion, I think it’s “love at first highlight”. Expect a review soon!

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil and L’Oreal Brow Artist Plumper – Brows and liquid liner are the two things I’ve always struggled to master in the makeup department… I’m hoping these two products are going to give me the perfect Kate Middleton brows I’ve always wanted!

Have you guys tried any of these products in the past? What did you think of them? And would you like to see a full review of any at some point? Let me know in the comments below πŸ™‚

Check back in on Thursday for more beauty and lifestyle!

  1. The zoella bag looks so cute, I heard she does a few different ones, might go and have a look and the Maybelline concealer is one of my favorite drugstore concealers! that stuff is amazing.

  2. Loving this little bag! And I completely agree, the concealer is fine for brightening but doesn’t offer much coverage. Also, it’s not quite fair enough for my pale skin but it is great for a little tan. Also very interested in The Balm. I’ve never purchased any of their stuff but I keep hearing great things!

  3. I like the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer better than the Fit Me – its coverage is so good and it doesn’t crease on me! The Balm is sold at drugstores here so I’d consider it drugstore haha – that highlighter is very bling-y… I have to apply it with a fan brush or else it’s too much.
