Feb Favourites

I always find February to be the most depressing of all the months in the year. Most people would say January, what with the excitement of Christmas being over, but actually I find the celebrations tend to roll over into the next month and I usually have some spending money to shop away my sadness! February is where things get really depressing though… It’s usually miserable weather and Christmas seems likes a distant memory while at the same time summer feels forever away. The only thing for it? Find a few lovely beauty products to get excited about…

I’ve rounded up my 5 favourite beauty products which have given me some sparks of joy during this miserable month!

OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel: I’ve decided to give my beloved Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish a little rest and give s0mething new a try. This Oskia Cleansing Gel has to be one of the most popular skincare products in the beauty blogger community. I feel like every big YouTuber I watch has mentioned it at some point! Anyway, I totally gave into the hype and picked up a bottle myself to try and I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now.

A full review will be coming soon once I’ve used it for a while longer, but I can completely see why people love this stuff so much. Firstly, it smells amazing – like that kind of relaxing, aromatic essential oils scent you find in a spa.The formula is also really interesting as it comes out as a gel, but then turns into an oil once you massage it into skin. This just makes it such a relaxing. luxurious process and my skin has been feeling really soft and nourished since adding it to my routine.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate: This is another new addition to my skincare routine (which I like to switch up every 4 months of so), and is also a bit of a cult product! I’ve been using this oil every night before I go to bed in place of a moisturiser to give my complexion an added boost of hydration and treatment. This just smells divine, like lavender and herbs, and I wake up with everything looking a lot more rejuvinated and refreshed.

theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Highligher: Hands down the best highlighter I’ve ever used. Want something with a golden, champagne shimmer which will instantly give you beautiful, light-reflecting cheekbones? Try this out… Check out my full review here.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: I didn’t include this in my Real Techniques Starter Kit but I definitely would now. It’s become my most-used brush this last month due to it just being so bloody versatile. It applies liquid foundation like a dream, blends out concealer and cream blushes or bronzers brilliantly, and even fits perfectly under cheekbones for a great contour tool. Ideal!

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Kiss Chase: The Queen of Lipsticks herself released two beautiful limited edition shades for Valentine’s Day this year: Between the Sheets and Kiss Chase. They’re only available online or at her store in Covent Garden so while I was in London, I decided to pick one up. I went for the brighter, more fuschia pink Kiss Chase, as I don’t have another shade like it. As with all her other lipsticks, this is an amazingly long-lasting formula which feels really creamy and hydrating. It’s not completely matte and the lovely pink shade will be perfect for Spring.

That’s it for the favourites this month! I’d love to know what you’ve been loving this month too. Let me know in the comments below 🙂

  1. I find February depressing too! The weather is still cold, nothing to look out to… But March will be better! Hopefully spring will arrive soon 🙂

  2. I finally tried the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and I don’t love it… I think it’s the eucalyptus? I don’t like the smell. And it also doesn’t remove my makeup that well (especially eye makeup). Too bad, everyone seems to love it!
The OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel sounds really good though.

    1. That’s such a shame! I personally love the smell but I have heard a few people saying they don’t like it so maybe it’s a personal preference… I do usually use some micellar water first if I’m wearing quite heavy makeup though, I think it’s better for removing light everyday makeup. I’m really enjoying the Oskia cleanser but you definitely need to use a makeup remover first! Xxx
