Hi everyone! Hope you’re all having a good weekend. Today I want to talk about my most recent makeup purchase, which has quickly become one of my all-time favourites. Last weekend, I was passing a MAC store and couldn’t resist going in for a little browse. I ended up coming out with one of their most famous lipsticks…
Mac Velvet Teddy was probably one of last year’s most hyped beauty product. After the whole ‘Kylie Jenner’s Lips’ drama, everyone seemed to suddenly be sporting a fuller, overdrawn pout and throwing back to the 90s with browny nude shades. While I may be a little late to the party, I’m finally on board with the whole brown lipstick trend (not so much the overdrawn thing though…)
This the perfect entry level brown for those who tend to stick more with pinks and reds. It’s a kind of nudey, brownish, taupe, but also has a rosy tone to it so will still be flattering on fairer skinned girls like myself. My other favourite MAC lipstick is Mehr and this to me is like it’s peachier, more subtle cousin. I’m also loving the formula. While it’s Matte, it’s not as difficult to work with as something like Ruby Woo, but glides on really easily with a nice creamy texture. It will still last pretty much all day though and I very rarely need to top this up!
Velvet Teddy has basically become my go-to lip shade. I wear it for work, going out shopping or for lunch during the day, and with a smoky eye at night. I totally understand why everyone loves this shade and went a little crazy for it last year. Only problem is now I’ve ventured into the brown lipstick trend, I now want every other shade on the menu! Whirl, Twig, Taupe… send them all my way!
Have any of you tried MAC Velvet Teddy? What do you think of it? And do you have any MAC Lipstick recommendations?
Just for a quick update, now I’m a bit more settled in Paris, I’m going to be going back to posting on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (my original schedule!). Some of them will be videos or vlogs; you can find the last one here and feel free to subscribe 🙂
