The Little Black Lipstick | Chanel Rouge Coco in Adrienne

There’s just something a little bit special about a Chanel lipstick…

Maybe it’s the sleek black and gold packaging, or the instantly recognisable double ‘CC’ symbol, but they certainly make applying your makeup in the back of an uber a heck of a lot more glamorous. Eternally classic, you can be sure they’ll never go out of style.

Of course, the luxury surrounding Chanel does mean it doesn’t come cheap, with a lipstick retailing at £26. I’ve currently got three shades in my collection: Magnoliaa pretty pink which I’ve had for about four years (and should probably throw out but can’t bring myself to yet), Piratea deep red which I got for Christmas last year, and my most recent addition; Adrienne… Or as I like to think of it, the perfect ‘My Lips But Better‘ shade.

Adrienne comes from the Rouge Coco collection, which was relaunched last year with a brand new formula and shade range. Inspired by Coco Chanel, each lipstick takes its name from someone in her innermost circle (Adrienne was Coco’s aunt).

Right from the off, this particular shade seemed to be getting the most love online from the beauty blogging community. I knew I wanted to try at least one of the Rouge Coco’s and decided to plump for this one, as like Chanel herself, a classic nude lipstick will always be fabulous.

Adrienne is a beige, brown toned nude, with just the right hint of peach to keep it from looking too dull. If you’re medium-fair toned like myself, this should really suit your colouring. The formula is very light and creamy, and leaves a slight glossy, sheeny finish.

The Rouge Coco lipsticks are sheer, which I like as I tend to reach for this whenever I’m going for a natural ‘barely-there’ makeup look, or if I’m going heavy on the eyes and want to play down my lips.

Of course, these aren’t a matte finish so don’t expect them to stay all day. I don’t think that’s the point though, and I like to just chuck this in my handbag and reapply it throughout the day when needed. Thankfully, as the formula is so creamy, it’s really easy to swipe on without smushing it all over your chin!

I shouldn’t be too surprised I love this lipstick. I mean it’s Chanel right?? Now if I can just find the money for one of her Boy bags…

Have you guys got a ‘Little Black Chanel Lipstick’? What’s your favourite shade? And what Rouge Coco shade would you like to get your hands on?

Check back in on Friday for a new post! See my latest Paris vlog here.

  1. Okay, so I tried that one on. I was just trying to switch it up a bit from my standard Coco Shine Intime. I think it looked horrible on me. You are lucky. I think you can wear any shade you wanted to and it will look beautiful.
