What’s On My Dressing Table?

Hi everyone! If you’ve been keeping up with my blog or Instagram, you may have seen that I’ve recently come back from Paris… I know, seriously sad times.

One upside of returning to the UK though, is that I’ve moved into a lovely new flat with a friend from work. We arrived this weekend, both armed with a car load of belongings, and spent Saturday unpacking and ‘homifying’. And drinking prosecco of course…

I thought it might be fun to do a little vlog style flat tour at some point, so let me know if you guys would be interested in seeing that? For now though, let’s focus on the most important aspect of my bedroom: The dressing table.

The dressing table itself came with the flat, and I’ve been using it for doing my makeup and hair in the mornings. Here’s a quick whip round of what you’ll find on it!

I like to keep all my hair products, deodorant and perfume here so they’re all right where I need them and can be reached easily. Perfume especially is often that thing I forget then quickly dash back for a spritz before rushing out the door.

Currently, my routine ‘post-wash’ is to rub some of the Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce Body Booster Mousse through my roots, followed by a spritz of Aussie Miracle Recharge Spray, and a quick run through the ends of my hair with some oil. Once dry, I also use some of the Davines MINU Serum, which was recommended to me by my hairdresser to sort out my seriously dry heat-damaged hair!

Other essentials are some hairspray and dry texturising spray for those flat ‘I didn’t have time to wash my hair days’, both also from the Charles Worthington Volume and Bounce range. I’m also still using the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess perfume for my daily scent (it still counts as summer if it’s above 25 degrees right?) and a classic Dove deodorant.

I’m not a big jewellery wearer and don’t tend to hoard it too much in the way I do with clothes and makeup. However, i do have a few bits and pieces which I really love and wear all the time. A few things, such as my charm bracelet, a diamond necklace from my boyfriend, and a few pairs of earrings are kept in a safe box, but I like to have my regularly worn stuff to hand.

This consists of my Michael Kors rose gold watch (bought with my very first proper pay check so I’ll always love it!), a simple gold chain from my parents for my 21st birthday, a silver necklace from my cousin, a turquoise ring I bought at a market in Ibiza, and my favourite gold hoop earrings, which I’ve had for years and wear most days!

Moving on to the makeup! As before, the majority of my makeup is kept in my drawers or it would be completely everywhere… Instead, i just keep the products I use on a more regular basis. You can actually see most of them in my recent 5 Minute Makeup Look video.

This includes my Bare Minerals Original Foundation, Clinique Line Smoothing ConcealerLiz Earle Cream Blush, Dior Forever Setting Powder and Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow for complexion makeup.

For the eyes, it’s a simple case of brows and mascara for me most days. I’ve been using my Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil, Benefit Ready Set Brow Gel, and the YSL Babydoll Mascara.

Of course, I also keep the majority of my makeup brushes here. In a Tim Hortons mug. Classy.

Hope you guys enjoyed this makeup/home interiors post! What do you keep on your dressing table at home? is it similar to me? And let me know if you’d like to see a house tour video…

Check back in on Wednesday for a new post 🙂

  1. Oh your Paris stint is over! Seems like it was just yesterday you got there!
Your dressing table looks perfect to keep all your essentials! Now, WHERE did you get a Tim Horton’s mug! As a Canadian, I find that hilarious! 😆

  2. This is super cute! I’ve spent more than a month working on my vanity because I wanted it to be used as a backdrop in blog photography whenever I got bored of flatlays. I find that I keep pretty much everything in the drawer, except for stuff with gold or pretty packaging, in which case they go on top of the vanity. However, I seriously love my Makeup Revolution I ❤ Chocolate/Pink Fizz palettes and reach for those every time. I love your little heart dish. I'm like you, I rarely ever wear jewelery, but I do have a few pieces I keep on hand at all times.
