So today I thought I’d do a little beauty review; although I have to admit, this isn’t actually a new product for me… I used Benefit Hoola Bronzer religiously while I was in my third year of uni and only recently repurchased it, but I realised the other day that I’ve never actually reviewed it on here! I seemed a little unfair to leave it out, so I thought it was about time to give it some proper deserved attention.
Benefit Hoola is a bit of a cult beauty product. It’s one of those holy grail bronzers which everyone talks about, and is possibly Benefit’s most famous product. Well I’d have to say, I completely understand the hype. In fact, I think it’s my favourite bronzer I’ve ever used!
So what makes it so special? Well I find it to be the perfect middle ground between a cool toned contour and a warm toned bronzer. It can be used to sculpt out better cheekbones and chisel out a jawline, but at the same time can be used to give you that nice sunkissed glow. It also seems a very universal shade; I’m quite pale, yet it never looks muddy or too orange on me – similarly, some of my more olive-toned friends still love this product. Whenever I’m feeling a little ill or pale (like right now, Halloween weekend has definitely taken its toll!), I know I can trust this to take me from ghostly to glowing in an instant.
The only downside in my view is the packaging which has always been a bit of a disappointment for me. Considering the price of nearly £25, the cardboard packaging feels quite cheap. I’d like something a bit more luxury, like my Clarins Aquatic Treasures Bronzer. On the other hand – and this may be controversial! – I really like the little brush it comes with and fit to fit perfectly under my cheekbones for contouring. Loads of people say the brush is rubbish, but I’m going to come to its defence! And anyway, a brush is an added bonus right?
So this bronzer doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere yet! What about you guys? Have you used it before? And what’s your all time favourite bronzer?
Check back in on Wednesday for a new post 🙂
